How to Clean Caravan & Motorhome Windows Correctly
Top tips to keep your caravan windows in great condition
Start by washing the window with warm water to remove any dirt and grit.
Follow by only using a cleaner formulated to clean acrylic. Cleaners that are suitable for cleaning glass windows, general plastics or polishing furniture, may produce good results, however, over a period of months after their use the acrylic will start to craze. Crazing is unsightly and can lead to cracking. If this happens you may need to replace your caravan or motorhome windows. Crazing usually develops slowly but cannot be reversed by using a cleaner specially formulated to clean acrylic.
Acrylic is also easily scratched so never use an abrasive cleaner even to remove any stubborn stain or excessive dirt.

- Always use a cleaner specifically formulated to clean acrylic.
- Always use a new soft cloth or a clean cloth previously used to clean acrylic.
- Never use a cloth previously used to clean other household items. Old cloths can retain dirt, grit, and chemical residues that may scratch or harm the acrylic.
- Always dampen the cloth when cleaning acrylic surfaces It is relatively easy to scratch acrylic.
Never use a rotary power polisher. Power polisher can overheat the acrylic and distort the surface. - Never use any scouring compounds. Scouring compounds can scratch the surface and cause scratches that can be difficult to remove.
- Never use a solvent to remove tree sap, adhesive labels or other gummy substances.
- Fine scratches can be removed by lightly rubbing the area with Fenwicks Windowize. Apply the Fenwicks Windowize by hand with a very clean soft cloth (eyeglasses type) using a rotary motion. Never use a power rotary polisher.
